This is it!

Sailor News (The Last Edition!)

Happy Summer Break! The first graders enjoyed their last few days of school. On Tuesday the first graders were busy. First they performed a Spanish play for the kindergarten class, and then they performed a dance routine for their 8th grade buddies at the graduation assembly. On Wednesday they wrote directions on “How to be a first grader”. The 1st graders also visited the 2nd grade teachers on Wednesday and asked a lot of excellent questions! Today we ended this special week with a wonderful Mass where we learned how much God loves us! Please check your child’s folder for his/her report card, STAR report, MAP test results, and SLE rubric.

I want to give a special thank you to all the incredible parent volunteers who have helped out in the classroom and on field trips this year. And, of course, thank you to each and every one of you for supporting your children this year by preparing them for school each day, reading with them, helping them with homework, and so much more. I appreciate it!

Thank you for the gift of SCRIP! I am so blessed to have such a generous class this year. I appreciate it so much along with the lovely cards and gifts.

Thank you for a wonderful year in first grade! Miss Brown and I appreciate all your support this year. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for trusting us with your children. Have a wonderful summer and don’t forget to read with your child.

Miss Teresa Thornton

First Grade Sailor News

First graders have had a busy week taking mastery tests, practicing a dance for our eighth grade buddies, and learning about the sacraments. Did you want to see the dance? Here is the link to the song we are using! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7d5Ha3MmeA On Thursday the first graders had a great time eating lunch with their buddies and playing games at recess.

Summer Contract/Summer Packet

The first graders recently set goals for summer learning to avoid any “summer slide” after all their hard work this year. I am sending home a copy of this completed goal-setting sheet for you to keep in a safe place. You will also find a summer packet your child’s folder. It has ideas for reading and math. Please keep this for the summer months!

Thank You!

Thank you to Mrs. Eberly for coming in to help inventory and cover books. It is a daunting task and Miss Feeney and I appreciate your help! If anyone else from our class is interested in helping, please let me know.
