First Sea Otter News
Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazing moms! We hope you will enjoy the gift your children created this week. Enjoy this special day! This week we wrapped up our study of the Grasslands and look forward to exploring the Polar Habitat over the next two weeks.
As the year winds down, I encourage you to check in with your child to ensure he/she is able to work independently. Can he/she tie shoes? Work alone for 15 minutes? We are working hard to be sure we are ready for second grade.
Summer Solutions books are available for order! Each book costs $13.00. See the attached to order using the code listed. Orders will be shipped to Miss Gudaitis and delivered to students before school dismisses for holidays. Please be aware – the Code for ordering expires Sunday, May 12th!
Summer Conference Sign Ups:
At this time of year I like to offer optional conferences. These are meant to discuss concerns, progress, and preparation for second grade over the summer in partnership with your child’s summer contract.
Every first grader will make a summer contract in class that includes a plan for reading, writing, math, and student choice. They will bring it home to you to use as a tool for summer growth.
If you don’t wish to schedule a conference or are unable to find a time slot please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
