First Grade Sea Otter News

The first graders sang like angels last night!  Today we had a Christmas cozy party where students read Christmas books to their stuffed animals.  We also visited our buddies and delivered Christmas cards.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped with making the International Christmas Luncheon so amazing!  We couldn’t have done it without you.  And a huge THANK YOU for all the thoughtful gifts, cards, and Scrip. I am so blessed to have such wonderful and generous students and families this year.

I hope you enjoy your special gift from your first grader!  Students worked hard on a gift that is from around the world 🙂

Over break it is a great idea to read and practice math daily. Here are some first grade goals you can practice at home: Fluently add to 20, skip counting by 1, 2, 5, or 10 from 1-120, and mentally finding 10 more or 10 less than any number.  There will be no reading homework assigned over break but please encourage your child to continue reading every day.  Christmas break is perfect for reading with different family members and friends.

Are you in need of another stocking stuffer idea?  It is always good to start the New Year with a new plastic folder with bottom pockets, new pencil, or an amazing bookmark!

Blessings on your family during this joyous time of year!
